Who operates PermitTrail

PermitTrail is an independent driving-permit study app operated by Night Owls. Contact bhuwanenoch@gmail.com for support, corrections or privacy questions. We are not a government agency and do not issue permits or administer official tests.

Study data stays on your device

No account is required. Your selected state, practice answers and scores, saved questions, checklists, study goals, target dates, completed lessons, saved articles, reading position and text size are stored locally in the app or browser. PermitTrail does not upload this study history to a Night Owls server. Device or browser backups may preserve local data under your operating-system settings.

Ads and privacy choices

The first store release (version 1.0.0) has ads disabled. It does not start the Google AdMob or User Messaging Platform services, request ads, or ask for an advertising age range. The SDKs remain included for a future advertising-enabled release. The web app does not initialize AdMob.

In advertising-enabled test builds, ads stay disabled until an eligible age range is selected and Google permits ad requests after the applicable privacy flow. Unknown age and under-13 selections do not initialize the ad service. Teens receive restricted treatment. PermitTrail requests non-personalized ads for eligible users; that does not mean Google processes no data.

When the ad or consent services operate, Google may process IP addresses, approximate location inferred from IP, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics and consent choices for ad delivery, measurement, security and fraud prevention. Practices depend on platform, consent and SDK behavior. Advertising-enabled builds include Progress → Privacy & ads to change your age range and open Privacy choices when available. No precise birth date is requested. Reading screens, active questions and answer explanations do not contain ads.

Website and official references

The website host processes ordinary network requests, including IP address, requested file and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. PermitTrail has no additional analytics or account service in this edition. Reading articles are bundled with the app. Opening an article does not contact the referenced licensing agency. Source checking happens separately during editorial preparation; it does not send learner data to agencies.

Support messages

If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to respond and resolve the issue. Do not send Social Security numbers, driver-license numbers, identity documents or payment details. We retain support correspondence while needed to handle the request, then delete it when no longer needed, subject to any required retention.

Children and age ranges

PermitTrail is designed for prospective drivers and is not directed to children under 13. It does not request a child’s name, contact details or precise birth date. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact us so we can review and remove it.

Delete data and request help

Progress → Reset local progress removes study history from this app or browser. Progress → Privacy & support → Clear reading data removes saved articles, reading position and reader settings. Clearing browser site data or deleting the app removes local data subject to operating-system backups. These actions do not erase records held independently by Google or your website host. Use their privacy controls or contact support for help with a privacy request.
